Our Process

Using digital printing technology, Spoonflower’s on-demand process has revolutionized the textile and home decor industry. Our scalable manufacturing and operational practices minimize waste, prioritize responsibly-sourced fabrics and utilize recycled materials wherever possible. We also use water-based pigment inks and dyes for printing each of our products.

Our Story

What began as an online fabric store has expanded to include wallpaper and home decor galore. Artists can see their designs come to life on table linens, bedding, sheet sets, duvet covers and other home goods; and creative shoppers can find just the right design that uniquely works for you.

Our story starts with oversized yellow polka dot curtains. Back in 2008 when Kim, Stephen Fraser’s wife, couldn’t find the right fabric and wanted to design her own, our founders recognized a need for a platform that would allows average consumers to make a few yards of uniquely designed fabric in a fast, affordable way.

From our humble beginning in a small NorthCarolina sock factory to now manufacturing in state-of-the-art facilitiesacross the USA, Spoonflower has grown from a simple idea to an abundant onlinemarketplace full of color, pattern and opportunity for creatives everywhere.

Soonflower joined the Shutterfly family of brands in 2021, expanding opportunities for individual creators and small businesses. No matter the endeavor, we’re here to cheer on our community in whatever ways they find success.
