Spoonflower’s Design Challenges encourage creativity by inviting our community to enter designs regularly around fun themes, get their designs discovered and vote on favorites to win prizes.
How It Works
- 2-6 challenges are open for entries at all times
- Voting ends on a Tuesday for each open Design Challenge
- The winners are announced on a Thursday
- Over 500 past challenges are available to shop

Spoonflower’s Design Challenges encourage creativity by regularly inviting our community to submit designs around a theme and vote on favorites to win prizes. Our team thoughtfully selects themes that are trending, alongside fun or even out-of-the-box ideas from our collaborators, our community and artists like you.

For every Design Challenge, we award our winners’ circle with Spoondollar credit, ranging from automatically approving your design for sale (helping you earn commissions faster) to $200 or more so you can get all your favorite Spoonflower products.

Set Your Discipline
Many of Spoonflower’s most successful independent artists got their start by participating in design challenges, honing their style, finding new techniques and cheering on others. Just like in yoga, the practice of doing the a regular challenge can be just as fulfilling as the end result!

The top 100 popularly-voted designs from each theme will be automatically made available for sale in the Spoonflower Marketplace (provided they are a verified seller) where they will receive 10% commission on every sale—no $5 swatch required.
